INCAR-CSIC collaborates extensively with industry and European projects to develop and optimize sustainable carbon materials for applications in energy, environmental protection, and the circular economy, helping transfer innovative solutions from research to industrial deployment.
Project activities
INCAR-CSIC contributes its expertise in the development and advanced characterization of sustainable carbon materials derived from biomass and other renewable carbon precursors. The institute plays a key role in evaluating the structural, textural and physicochemical properties of these materials, establishing the relationships between precursor characteristics, processing conditions and final performance.
INCAR-CSIC supports the development of innovative bio-based carbon materials aimed at enabling more sustainable ironmaking processes and contributing to the decarbonization of the European steel industry.
